CARA is a Canberra based non-profit Incorporation dedicated to saving the lives of pets listed for euthanasia at pounds within the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales.
OUR MISSION To rescue animals from pounds in NSW and the ACT who are at imminent risk of euthanasia and to provide them with refuge in a home environment including all necessary care before adopting them out into responsible and loving homes.

If you would like to help contribute to the cost of care and to help provide life-saving treatment for rescue animals in need, please know that your contribution, however big or small, will be very gratefully received.
Your donation will help in many ways, for example (approx amounts):
$10.00 covers the worming, heartworm prevention and flea control for an average cat or small dog
$15.00 covers the transport costs of one animal from Wagga pound to Canberra or Yass
$50.00 covers the cost of a vaccination for a year for one animal
$70.00 covers the cost of treatment for ringworm (cats) or kennel cough (dogs) before they are ready to rehome
$150.00 covers the cost of desexing for cats or smaller dogs
$300+ typically covers the cost of one day’s hospitalisation and treatment of a dog with Parvovirus
