Like so many companion and wild animals in the ACT, dear Lexie didn't have much to celebrate in the lead up to the Queen's Birthday long weekend. On the Tuesday night before, someone decided it would be a good idea to set off some early fireworks and poor Lex cut her foot quite severely in her panic. Lexie was rushed by her foster carers to the Animal Emergency Centre in Braddon and spent several hours being treated before she was able to come home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
We would like to say a special thank you on Lexie's behalf to all the generous people who have donated towards her medical expenses. Lexie is now fully recovered and, thanks to the skilled attention of the emergency vets and her kind benefactors, her wounds have been treated and healed successfully and she is feeling good about the world once more.
